When Feminism Becomes a Mask: My Truth

Feminism was supposed to be about supporting each other. About standing side by side, lifting each other up, and creating space for every woman to grow, shine, and lead. But sadly, that’s not always what I’ve seen.
In my personal life and career, my most painful experiences didn’t come from men — they came from women. I’ve worked with women who were mean, jealous, and ready to tear others down to feel bigger themselves. I’ve had friendships where support turned into competition, where kindness was just a mask for judgment, and where sisterhood was nothing but an empty word.
Professionally, it’s often been easier for me to work with men. Men can be tough, yes — but they are usually straightforward. With women, too often I’ve faced hidden competition, unspoken rivalries, and egos so big they cloud everything. And somehow, some women hide these toxic behaviors behind the word "feminism," using it as a shield to justify actions that are anything but empowering.
It breaks my heart, because this isn’t what feminism was meant to be. Real feminism is about real support. Lifting each other up with honesty, courage, and kindness. It’s about creating a world where women celebrate each other's success, not fear it.
So today, I’m speaking up. Let’s stop using labels to excuse bad behavior. Let’s stop tearing each other down in the name of empowerment.
💥 Let’s get back to what truly matters: respect, kindness, and real sisterhood. If we want change, it starts with us. Who’s ready to be part of that change?
